The University of Michigan School of Dentistry’s Office of Admissions receives around 2,000 applications each year. The admissions staff sees prospective dental students regularly, either as drop-ins, at college fairs, or admissions events held at the school. Even though the information is online, the admissions staff needed a handout to give prospective students when they were speaking in person. The information needed to be brief enough to fit on one sheet of paper, but also needed to have all the necessary information a prospective student would need to begin applying to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
After gathering the necessary information for the handout, I broke the information into smaller chunks and ordered the information according to the usual timeline for a prospective student. It starts with background information about the program, the method for applying to the program, then application requirements and prerequisites.
The outcome for this project was a one-sided handout on 8.5 x 11 inch paper.
