Each week the Articulate software community, E-Learning Heroes, challenges E-Learning professionals to submit projects based on certain criteria. Challenge #144 was to get creative and design a navigation that doesn’t use “boring” next buttons.
My desk was covered in sticky notes, so I decided to build an interaction with stacked sticky notes held to a bulletin board with pushpins. When the user drags the pushpin off the note, that note would drop to reveal the next note. Built in Articulate Storyline 2, this interaction is built using a series of triggers that allow each note to exit the screen when a learner drags the pushpin off the note.
HOW THIS COULD HELP YOUR LEARNERS
Sometimes when creating an eLearning course we rely to heavily on the “next” button. A learner just clicks “next” over and over. By getting creative, we can make a course feel more fun and interesting for the learner.
